The interior meshes the rusticity of a historic warehouse with the refinements of Asian art and the airiness of the tropics. The cuisine is an amalgam of Asian and Californian styles, including dishes like spicy orange chicken and honey walnut prawns. Deliciously seasoned steaks are also a strong draw.

The Fat's name has been a mainstay in Sacramento dining since 1939, and descendants of the original owner still run this legendary eatery. A popular spot for politicos and lawmakers, Frank Fat's has abundant local charm, not to mention dishes representing four main Asian culinary styles: Cantonese, Szechwan, Peking, and Shanghai. Tucked away inconspicuously, this jewel of a restaurant serves Thai and Vietnamese cuisine. However, you might also be surprised to learn that Lemon Grass serves fabulous desserts like "Saigon by Night" (a rich concoction of Vietnamese espresso, hazelnut syrup, vanilla ice cream, and whipped cream), homemade Australian ginger ice cream bathed in Grand Marnier, and banana cheesecake with warm coconut sauce. Popular for business lunches, Megami has a lengthy menu, although most people opt for sushi. The casual dining room is a great spot to grab a quick bite, and prices are reasonable.
